Great summary, Eric! Congratulations on a fantastic publication--and one I always open right away to see what you are writing and thinking about. Here’s to an equally fantastic 2024!

Thanks, Liz! I have loved your "Conscious Uncoupling" series and other Unprofessoring posts, like your origin story in plant biology. Looking forward to seeing more in the new year :-)

Hi Eric, congratulations! It’s been a pleasure getting to “know” you through your writing while broadening my knowledge along the way. Your site has great bones. I sent you a “patient” today who is going back to vet school, and I think she will enjoy your writing, too! Doing this is kind of like jazz, not a huge audience, but you have to have a love for the medium, and the rewards are often intangible, but better when they occasionally pay for some champagne ... cheers for 2024!

Thanks, that's great to hear! I would be happy to answer any questions they may have about the industry as they progress through school. Take care and keep writing, I look forward to reading new issues of Examined in 2024!

I’m so humbled by your recognition. We have recommended over 40 newsletters at one point or another, and several have earned hundreds of subscribers, but most newsletters don’t acknowledge us the way you do.

We will continue to support your publication anyhow possible. Just so you know we intend to have a minimum of 100 editions all through 2024 and we have a few marketing strategy to incorporate, hence more and more people will be interested in your newsletter.

Thanks for always sharing your contents with the world. We appreciate your recognition.

You are so welcome! Your mission of helping international grad students find positions and funding is amazing, and probably the main reason I have such a diverse readership across 47 countries, especially readers from Africa and southeast Asia
