You are more right than you know: Kerry Washington was going to go on his show "Finding Your Roots" and before she could test her parents privately contacted Professor Gates to say she was conceived via anonymous sperm donor, but had never told her (and weren't planning to until their hand was forced). She has since written a memoir about that experience.
