Quite a shame that so many studies have been done on an inherently implausible treatment theory that Cochrane can crank out multiple meta-analyses to disprove what is self-evidently nonsense.
Good to keep educating people and flooding the zone with reason, as the zone is saturated with these money making placebos. And placebos do “work” up to 30% of the time for some “symptoms”, but like you said, for serious illnesses undiagnosed or left untreated this becomes unethical and very dangerous.
Absolutely. While these studies *shouldn't* be necessary, when they are lacking quacks can proclaim "Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence" (man, I HATE that stupid line)
Eric, I almost didn't open this post, I read the title and thought, "God! Eric's joined that crowd!" Thank goodness I read your essay! Granted that I myself am so brilliant, a hyper-genius, that I am often trans-rational 😉 still I'm not irrational! I still retain a certain child-like, naive trust in the physical laws governing our neck of the universe. Now there may be some multiverse world where the principles of homeopathic medicine work, it's not at all impossible. But it's not this one. I hope I don't lose subscribers who believe in homeopathy, but if you go don't rely on those remedies, beyond their placebo properties, please!
No. It makes perfect sense! Here's how. You get a newspaper photo of a hypodermic needle. You get another newsprint with the word "measles" on it. You get a glass of tap water. Dip both newsprints very briefly into the water (you don't want too strong a dose!) Then you drink the water which "remembers" the pictures. Swallow. Presto chango- you're vacccinated against measles!
I'm working on a full spectrum vaccination: one using the needle photo and just some old notepaper with the words "measles," "mumps," "rubella," "covid-all possible variants," "dengue" "plague-all types," "cancer-all types," and heart disease" scrawled on it with a ballpoint. Same directios but slightly longer dip time!
Wish I could say I am making it up. Love this "Should new symptoms arise then pause and observe. If they are marked then reassess your case as a different remedy may now be required."

Tim Minchin summed it up perfectly: "do you know what they call alternative medicine that has been proved to work? ... Medicine."

I don't know if you have come across this but the fact that you can 'create' your own 'remedy' using paper and a bottle of water.
Wow that is totally 🍌

Nothing like playing trial and error whack-a-mole with sugar water and no medical oversight! Absolutely ridiculous 🤦🏻♂️
Not even sugar water, plain water. (mineral is ideal!)
