Welcome to All Science Great & Small!

Your source for independent science & veterinary content

Hey there! 👋 I'm Dr. Eric Fish, a veterinary pathologist, scientist, and educator with experience ranging from academia to diagnostic laboratories to start-ups. You can read my published research here. My interests span veterinary medicine, molecular biology, and technology (especially AI), along with a passion for travel and learning about the world. Here is my conflict of interest disclosure page.

I named this Substack “All Science Great & Small” as an homage to the famous veterinary book All Creatures Great and Small and its sequels by Dr. James Herriot. Those books warmed hearts and inspired generations of people to become veterinarians, including myself. My goal with science writing is to focus on animals of all kinds and to make it accessible to everyone, similar to Dr. Herriot. You can think of this publication as a mix of an email newsletter, a thought-provoking blog, and engaging interactive discussions. Plus, there's a sprinkle of podcast audio and quick, insightful posts for those on the run.
